The Story of Creation (18 - D): Prophets Ibrahim and Lot, The Dead Sea, Destruction of Sodom …

In previous parts we estimated the time when our father Adam had descended to Earth, then the time when Prophets Noah, Hud and Saleh (PBUT) were sent to their people to warn them not to follow Satan and guide them to the right path.

Coming to the second group of prophets: Ibrahim, Lot, Mosses, Jesus (PBUT).

Ibrahim and Lot (PBUT):

Ibrahim and Lot were at the same time, they lived in North Iraq then moved to Palestine after they called their people but they refused to respond to them, so Ibrahim moved with his family and settled in "Al-khalil" city (Hebron) and Lot moved to Sodom villages which are located now beneath the Dead Sea between Jordon and Palestine.

The emigration of Ibrahim is mentioned in the following verses:

فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ 24 وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ 25 فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ 26

So nothing was the answer of Ibrahîm's (Abraham) people except that they said: "Kill him or burn him." Then Allâh saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe (24) And [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allâh, The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper." (25) So Lut (Lot) believed in him [Ibrâhim's (Abraham) Message of Islâmic Monotheism]. He [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: "I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (29:24-26)

The Story of Creation (18 - C): The Carved mountains of the Desert, Prophet Saleh and People of Thamoud…

A second group descended from Noah children were Thamoud, or the people of Prophet Saleh (PBUH), let's review the verses from Quran that describe them and their living during the old times.

1- Being Thamod People after A'd:

In the following verse, the Prophet Saleh remind his people that they came after A'd and how they built their palaces (houses) in plains and carved the mountains:

وَاذْكُرُواْ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاء مِن بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ الْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَاذْكُرُواْ آلاء اللَّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْا فِي الأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ  (7: 74)

"And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allâh, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." (74)

وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ (89: 9)

And (with) Thamûd (people), who hewed out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? (9)

The Story of Creation (18 - B): Eram, The Lost city of Sand, Prophet Hud and People of A'd…

The early generations descended from Noah sons moved away from Ark's location in Southern Turkey, and  started to settle around the globe, but the main group who were mentioned in Quran and lived after Noah times, were people of A'd. They lived in southern part of Arabia where it was a wonderful place full of gardens, lakes and rivers.

But those people diverted again from worshiping God, and they were proud and arrogant because of their wealth and power that ALLAH gave to them:

فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

As for 'Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allâh, Who created them was mightier in strength than them. And they used to deny Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations)! (24:15)

Not only that, but it seems that their cities and lands were huge and wide too:

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَثَارُوا الأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

Do they not travel in the land, and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength, and they tilled the earth and populated it in greater numbers than these (pagans) have done, and there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs. Surely, Allâh wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves. (30:9)
